Google latitude not updating friends location
Touch a friend’s contact details balloon in map view or touch a friend in list view to open your friend’s profile.Touch any of the following buttons or options on the profile screen: You have control over how and when you can be found by your friends. Google’s ever-updating, ever-improving navigation is popular and robust enough to have more or less brought on the death of the paper map, and it feels like it’s getting more and more accessible by the day.Some countries, like China, run a pretty tight ship when it comes to regulation, making Google Maps over there as good as useless, or maybe you just don’t want Google algorithms profiting off your data.For now, it's available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and we hope to bring it to more countries soon. But there are still reasons why you wouldn’t want to, or can’t, use Google maps.
Each friend is represented by their picture (from People) with an arrow pointing to their approximate location.Our Latitude web app provides all the core functionality you might expect: you can see the location of your friends on a map and modify your privacy settings so that you control how your location is shared and with whom.In fact, if my friends and colleagues back in London haven't yet noticed my absence, they'll see in Latitude that I'm currently vacationing on the beach in Australia. You'll also find basic Search and Directions functionality to help you get around the world.Only the last location sent to Latitude is stored with your Google Account.If you turn off Latitude or are hiding, no location is stored.
Tip: To quickly turn on your location, swipe down with two fingers from the top of your device’s screen tap Location.
